The mind can be a labyrinth and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, especially in times of chaos and celebration. It’s OK to take pause and give yourself an interlude, no matter how brief, to reground and refocus your mind. Inhale deeply, exhale slowly and repeat until you feel your body and mind unwinding. Taking time for yourself is not selfish — in fact, it’s self-ful. Remind yourself of this and don’t be afraid to step away from your responsibilities and take some quiet time every now and then. Make a daily ritual out of it; meditate, practise breathwork, read in a quiet place, sit in the sun, enjoy a cup of tea with no other distractions. Whatever your ritual of choice, savour every second and let the feeling of peace wash over you.
