“The benefits of exercise are almost endless,” says Dr Jenna Macciochi who’s worked at the Department of Immunology and Infection at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. “It improves insulin resistance and cardiovascular health, is good for our muscles and bones (especially as we age), and improves cognition, mood and coordination.” However, exercise, she warns, can also have a profound effect on our immune system.
