Virgin Atlantic and Kenya Airways have agreed a codeshare partnership, providing greater access from the UK to Nairobi and elsewhere in East Africa. The first phase of the agreement will allow customers booking through Virgin Atlantic to directly purchase seats on Kenya Airways’ London/ Heathrow to Nairobi service. In turn, Kenya Airways customers will have the opportunity to connect via Heathrow onto a number of Virgin Atlantic’s Caribbean destinations.
EasyJet is launching two new routes from the UK, including to Salerno’s Amalfi Coast airport, making it the only UK airline to operate commercial flights from the airport when they take off in July. The twice-weekly departures from London/Gatwick will operate throughout the summer on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The new route is to a former military-only airport which is now open for commercial flights for the first time. It will be easyJet’s 157th destination, with flights also launching from Milan, Berlin, Basel and Geneva. The airline has also announced that it will recommence its service between Newcastle and Amsterdam/Schiphol for next summer.
