NOTTS Athletics Club faces a fight to keep control of its stadium after Nottingham City Council has offered its backing to a local football club.
The Harvey Hadden Stadium, which less than one year ago Notts AC raised £50,000 towards the refurbishment of the track, looks set to fall out of its hands after the local council issued a “stadium user” contract, enabling bookings from the athletics club to be disregarded in favour of charitable or “major” events – those which have 200 or more attendees.
Notts AC is the largest athletics club in the East Midlands, with more than 600 members.
