My blog, Curiously Conscious, started in 2014, when I was living in Paris. During my time nestled in the tiniest sixth-floor flat in Montparnasse, I began to explore the French way of doing things – buying fresh food from the organic market next door, bringing my own bags to the shop, and choosing investment pieces over fast-changing trends. My time there has inspired my ethos today – to look for the better things in life. That means better for the Earth, better for others and better for myself, too.
We’re guzzling through the planet’s resources at an alarming rate. I want to exist in a way that reduces that impact – if not to leave things in a better way than I found them. If you want to live a greener lifestyle, my number one tip is to start off by working out what’s important to you. Do you want to reduce how much plastic-waste you make? Or perhaps you’d like to support businesses that treat their workers fairly. This gives you something to focus on, and you can apply it to much of what you do, without feeling overwhelmed. And alongside changing up your own lifestyle, make sure to campaign about the issue you’re focusing on. Sign petitions, write to your MP and protest.
