A DUNAVERTY golfer found some magic in the opening round of the club’s championships with his first hole-in-one, while the Watson family dominated the course.
Using a five iron, Ken MacMillan drove his ball into the cup at the 180-yard par three seventh, as Greg Watson, his father Duncan Watson III and his uncle Sandy Watson picked up the top prizes in their categories.
Thirty-two members turned out for the first round, where early starters Donald MacNeil and Ross Sinclair led the scratch section for most of the day, each returning scores of 67, in ideal weather conditions.
