We’re over in the far western corner of Wales, looking at when NBC retrenched from England’s smallest city, St Davids. And almost at the other end of the land, Keth Stevenson recalls MacBrayne’s operations out of Kinlochleven in Scotland.
We look at the last days of Bristol KSWs in Bristol and admire a few more Dennis Lolines. There’s a story to be told about the Leyland Nationals we saw outside the factory in the last Classic Bus, and why two of Southend’s buses were delivered late (it’s to do with consecutive body numbers colliding).
How about Sunderland? - not the place, but a flying boat and its relationship with a Leyland Titan in South West Scotland. Gateshead, too - the place this time - every picture tells a story! We see trolleybuses at Gardiner’s Corner and learn how Whitechapel got its name, return to Redcar briefly and get the low-down on the post-war rebodying programme for East Kent’s pre-war Leyland Titans.
