WINDOWS 11
Turn on live captions from system tray
The keyboard shortcut Windows key+Ctrl+L turns on live captions in Windows 11, showing subtitles on screen for any spoken audio playing on your PC, whether that’s a video (saved or online) or a call. There’s another way to turn them on if you can’t remember that shortcut or find it tricky to press. Click the ‘Quick Settings’ icons at the bottom right of your system tray ( 1 in our screenshot below) to make the box appear, then scroll down and click the ‘Live captions’ button so it turns blue 2 . You then need to click ‘Yes, continue’ at the top to confirm.
