Although it’s not as slick as Patch My PC Home Updater, this new tool offers a simple alternative way to keep your software up to date. QuickInstaller lists all the programs installed on your PC and tells you which ones have updates available – click the Update button (see screenshot) to apply them. You can view details of each program’s version number, install date and size, and uninstall software you no longer need. QuickInstaller can also scan for and update portable programs, and install nearly 1,000 Windows programs from its library. This helpfully organises tools into categories such as Maintenance, Graphics and Internet Browsers.
