Digital FilmMaker  |  DFM issue 55
We’ve had a fairly tough winter and, if you’re a filmmaker, you’ll know only too well just how much extra effort and organisation is needed when you’re battling against the elements. Going out on location requires plenty of advance planning, but there’s also the challenge of dealing with what comes up on the day. Even with the most comprehensive scheduling things can change and there are invariably things that go wrong too. Our latest issue features a whole stack of projects and filmmakers that have been faced with everything from people not turning up to equipment failures. If anything, our latest selection of intrepid filmmakers illustrate just how much dedication and determination you need to have to see your film through to the final wrap. However, what you’ll also see as you pick through the latest 116 pages is resilience and just how adaptable filmmakers can be. Being out on location when its cold and damp is one thing, but not giving up and getting the shoot done is another. It just goes to show that, no matter how tricky the odds, you should never throw in the towel.
