Over the past twenty years F1 has rolled with the times. V10s have given way to V8s and then V6s, and yet the same handful of names sit at the epicentre of success every time: Renault. Ferrari. Mercedes. Adrian Newey. Ross Brawn. Paddy Lowe. And yet no individual is bigger than their team. As we spin through the years we see McLaren underachieving consistently in spite of Newey’s presence, and Brawn struggling to return his team to winning form under Mercedes ownership. The cars on these pages, one from every constructors’ championship-winning team in F1 Racing’s lifetime, demonstrate that ingenuity must be tempered with consistency, rigour and hard graft.
