I’ve always heard that horses respond well to music and certain genres can even help them relax. However, in winter, with the horses stabled more often, one of the liveries at my yard insists on playing the radio for their horse all the time. I wouldn’t mind, except the music is anything but relaxing and can be heard all around the yard. I’ve asked them to turn it down a few times, but because our stables are next door to each other, it makes little difference. So much for peaceful days at the yard! I just hope my horse isn’t too bothered by it, as he doesn’t get to leave after all the yard chores are done.
