The electromagnetic spectrum is made up of different wavelengths of light. Each wavelength is made up of tiny particles called photons, which have different levels of energy. At the higher energy end of the spectrum are X-rays and gamma rays, while wavelengths with the lowest energy are infrared and radio waves.
