MARILYN stood in front of her long mirror wearing the high visibility jacket - or as they called it in the depot, her Hi Viz. She thought she looked like a giant chicken. She just wasn’t designed for a high visibility garment of any kind, let alone a yellow one.
It had seemed quite neat folded inside the wrapper when the manager had given it to her. It was only when she took it home, put it on and looked at herself, did she observe how… substantial…she had become. She had spent a lot of time avoiding that mirror when she was going out with Terence.
