There is no such thing as Islamic cuisine, but in the Islamic world there are two staples: bread and rice. In some countries it’s one or the other. Grilled meat kebabs are the common theme.

Hospitality in Muslim countries is so important that most people cook more than they need to in case family or friends drop by. It’s part of people’s faith to be to be hospitable. In Morocco, they have a round table so that unexpected guests can always squeeze in.
