Women in East Africa are supposed to stay at home, taking care of the kitchen, cows and children. When I first started my job, men would stop me and ask why I was driving. But love what I do – I’ve seen things I never would have if I’d stayed doing the cooking, washing and housework.
It’s tiring driving up to eight hours a day, moving between Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. Often, the roads are bumpy; I tell guests they are experiencing an ‘African massage’. But I am privileged to see the most beautiful landscapes and wildlife, and have met people from all over the world.
