BRUTISH BEAUTY

The Editor revives his 2007 build of Aki Products exquisite 1:72 Blackburn Firebrand

The Blackburn Firebrand was a big, brutish, beautiful British Fighter / Torpedo bomber which suffered a long gestation period but was ultimately underpowered and unsuccessful. The prototype flew in 1942 with the type only entered limited Fleet Air Arm service after the Second World War.

I should preface this article with the sad news that this kit is long out of production. However, I hope that some of the techniques and observations will be helpful when building other short-run resin and multi-media kits.
