THE Highland Council has approved plans to erect camping pods in Gairlochy – with the condition that an appropriate management plan for the site is agreed.
The application from Scottish Canals set out plans to build six visitor camping pods on a site on the banks of the Caledonian Canal, next to the locks at Gairlochy.
At a Highland Council planning meeting on Tuesday, the application was granted, but under the condition that no development will begin until an operational management plan has been submitted and approved in writing by the planning authority in consultation with a local councillor.
