Patchwork and Quilting  |  December 2013
This month we show how much our lives cross into patchwork with the story of making Altar Frontals for a local church. Never Volunteer tells us exactly what happens when you utter the words, ‘Yes, why?’ and there is a report on a wonderful visit to the UK experienced when a group of Canadian Quilters tour Wales. Let’s Go Shopping goes north of the border and in Quilting 4 Juniors we have a great little snowflake bag project.
Our Projects this month include some seasonal items of course. We have Scrappy Christmas which is a great stash buster quilt for all those Christmas fabrics we all have. I Love Christmas is a stylish wall hanging and the Pleated Christmas Bowls will look lovely filled with nuts or sweets. For a touch of modern we have Modern Christmas Trees and finally of course a Partridge in a Pear Tree. Violet’s Quilt uses the fabrics inspired by the television series, Downton Abbey which are now hitting the shops and we have reached part seven of the Seaside Sampler.
