During my first visit to Liberia in 2014, I took part in a leadership project with 400 teachers. While I was there, I met lots of people, but there was one girl in particular, Mekie, who I spoke to after a workshop and who stood out in my Mind. I had asked everyone what their dream was, and Mekie told me that she wanted to be a medical doctor. Then she said: ‘Now I’ve shared my dream with you, I know it will come true.
I know you will hold it for me.’ Her words stayed with me.
