FFESTINIOG & Welsh Highland Railway’s (Ff&WHR) Garratt NG/ G16 No. 143 passed a boiler hydraulic test on August 17 and is expected to return to traffic this autumn.
The loco went out of service at the beginning of the 2021 season. It will join NG/G16s Nos. 87 and 130 to provide the third Garratt required to maintain Welsh Highland Railway services, allowing for periods when one needs to receive maintenance.
