■ ON March 7 Isle of Man Steam Railway’s ‘Pairs’ coach No. F.63 made its first appearance in a train through to Port Erin following its return to Douglas in early February after restoration by Stanegate Restorations & Replicas in Haltwhistle. The stock working, hauled by Beyer Peacock 2-4- 0T No. 11 Maitland, had added significance being the first time since 1987 that a train with three ‘pairs’ carriages had been seen on the railway.
