THE RESTORATION of the platform canopies at Worcester Shrub Hill is underway as part of a £5.8 million project funded by Network Rail.
As part of the work at the Grade II-listed station, which maintains many of its original features, the canopies will be reglazed and the ironwork repainted. Work got underway at the beginning of April and will be completed by spring next year. In 2021, the station’s historic luggage bridge was restored, and lifts are due to be installed later this year as part of the Government’s Access for All scheme. The work will not impact rail services.
