Best contemporary cross stitch mag out there!

Clean, clear, coloured charts with easily identifiable symbols. UK magazine, so there are more cultural references to Brittain and Europe than North America. If you're a fan of Emma Congdon ("Stitchrovia"), you'll find lots of her patterns within the past 3 years (2020 onwards). There are hardly any patterns I wouldn't consider stitching!

I'm also a big fan of the variety of projects: I've stitched cards, ornaments, bags, pillows, needle cases, pin cushions, and toys! Clear instructions, but I wish there were more pictorial instructions for the projects (pillows, toys, etc.) that require some previous sewing experience. With these projects, they are best put together with a sewing machine.

Longterm Reader

I have been reading CrossStitcher since issue 1, more years ago than I care to remember. Love the designs, there is rarely an issue in which there is not something I itch to stitch. We are downsizing, so the digital version is idea, especially as I can print off the patterns I am stitching. Highly recommended. Reviewed Saturday, 9 January 2021

Best Cross Stitch Magazine

This is, by far, my favourite cross stitch magazine. I definitely think this magazine has appeal for a younger generation of stitchers (I'm including myself even though I'm in my 40s). The designs are modern and fun. While some of them are cute, the designs aren't "cutesy".

I usually save multiple patterns from each issue for my "to stitch someday" pile. It never disappoints.

Best modern cross stitch magazine

Cross Stitcher is my favourite cross stitch magazine. The patterns are modern, colourful and fun. I feel like this magazine has the most appeal for a younger generation of cross stitchers. There's always a variety of patterns and it's very rare that I don't find myself wanting to stitch at least one (if not more) of the patterns in each edition. Reviewed Tuesday, 24 April 2018
