Rough day at school or work?
There’s only one way to unwind: switch on your console and escape to a world –an open world –full of wonder and excitement.
Whether it’s ancient ruins, dense cities or uncharted star systems, video games allow us to dive headlong into all of them.
The concept of open-world games is simple: you can do what you want (mostly) when you want (mostly). They don’t have trad level structures, and the gameplay isn’t linear or structured in the same way a platformer is (though there are storylines to follow, of course). You decide what’s most important and what you want to achieve… although you are bound by rules, because that’s just the way life is.
You know a great indicator of a truly fantastic open world? It’s when you choose to forgo fast travel, instead traversing through the environment as nature intended. You’ll discover all manner of ways to move around, take on side-quests and marvel at the intensely immersive graphics.
