Adrianne Lenker, vocalist and guitarist for Brooklyn indie folk band Big Thief, has announced the release of two solo albums for 4AD. Both songs and instrumentals will be released on 23rd October, coming in the form of an 11-track and a two-track cassette, respectively.
Both albums were composed earlier this year following the cancellation of Big Thief’s March tour due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Decamping to a one-room cabin in western Massachusetts, Lenker captured every track using fully-analog recording (AAA). As such, no digital technology was used in the recording, mixing or mastering process whatsoever. The albums’ lush watercolour artwork was painted by Lenker’s grandmother, Diane Lee.
