Rewind to March 2015. The BBC has just sacked Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson after he ‘crossed the line’ by punching one of the show’s producers. Within days, co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May have quit in solidarity, with May suggesting: ‘In the future, when all this has blown over, there might be an opportunity for the three of us to get back together.’
Thankfully for their loyal fan base, that day has arrived. With Amazon Prime Video offering the presenters a multi-million-pound pay day, the petrolhead pals launch their new twelve part motoring show, The Grand Tour, on Friday,
promising their trademark mix of epic road trips and politically incorrect antics. We met them on home turf, in a west London pub, where they talked about what’s in store.
