Sloths spend around 15 to 20 hours per day asleep, and when they do move around the trees, they move at a rate of 40 yards per day to find food. Two-toed sloths are nocturnal whereas three-toed sloths are diurnal, meaning that they are active during the day.
Sloths are the world’s slowest animal and because of this they slowly gather algae on their fur. These algae help them to blend into their tree-top habitat away from predators.
