Actress Michelle Dockery, 35, who for Downton Abbey fans will always be Lady Mary Crawley. ‘My father’s Irish, though there’s not much Irish in him any more, as he’s lived in London his whole life. ‘He worked all kinds of jobs when I was growing up, ending up as a surveyor. I come from a humble working class background and the house I grew up in was a lot smaller than Downton Abbey! But I had a happy childhood and a closer relationship with my dad than Lady Mary did with the Earl of Grantham.
