Exploring the deepest point on Earth
REACHING NEW DEPTHS
Within the Mariana Trench lies the deepest point on Earth’s surface: Challenger Deep. It’s a place that only the most intrepid ocean explorers have visited, risking their lives in robust submersibles that allow them to descend 11km (7miles) underwater and witness this incredible location with their own eyes. As submersible design has improved, the journey has become more accessible, but the simple fact remains more people have been to space than to this point on the ocean floor.
