RCM&E  |  July 2022
Welcome to RCM&E!
Okay, now let’s take a brief look at what we have lined up for you in the July 2022 issue of RCM&E.
This month we start by catching up with Shaun Garrity for another dose of Retro Ramblings. Then it’s over to Danny Fenton for a special edition of Make It Scale, in which he reports from the Scale Indoor Nationals held at Wolverhampton University. In Weekenders, Alex Whittaker looks at a O/D engine using plumbing parts (!) and we discover his passion for the Keil Kraft Fleetwing, and the much smaller KK Nomad too!
This month’s Pro-Plan designer is Mike Freeman, whose sweet little 950mm span EP flying wing, the Hi8us takes pride of place on one side of the pull-out plan sheet. On the other side is the final sheet of Bill Bowne’s Waco YKS plan, which we had to hold over from last month due to lack of space.
David Ashby begins this month’s reviews in slow, relaxing style as he describes building a Leprechaun V3 retro glider from the Dane-RC kit. However, the adrenaline soon kicks in as first, yours truly test flies an eye-catching EDF biz-jet, the stunning J-65 from XFly-Model, before David returns with his take on the latest Arrows EDF model of a favourite early jet fighter, the sleek F-86 Sabre.
Our feature articles begin, as usual, with a Model Magic walkaround by Alex Whittaker; this time Alex pores over a fine Bucker Jungmeister. Martin Hardy makes a welcome return as he describes the build of his latest multi-motor scale model, an awesome Blackburn Beverley. Last up is Bill Bowne, who polishes off his Waco YKS build feature in the June issue by describing how to make a built-up balsa and ply cowl for this stylish biplane.
I hope you enjoy reading it all.
Happy Flying!
