RCM&E  |  September 2021
Now's the time to bring you a taster of what to expect when you read the September 2021 issue of RCM&E.
Kicking off our regular columns is Keith Jackson's Aerobatic Scene in which he builds a brand new, latest generation F3A biplane, the stunning Glacial designed by Finnish aerobatic ace Lassi Nurila. In his Weekenders clubman column Alex Whittaker spins around in circles with joy as he relates the intensive preparations for a charity 24-hour control line flight planned by the members of Peterborough MFC.
Our Pro-Plan in this issue brings you the second part of Chris Williams' fifth scale version of the gull wing Göppingen Gö 3 Minimoa. This time our free pull-out plan shows how to build the glider's distinctive oval section fuselage.
On review is the Max-Thrust Aggressor Sport, a potent 1.5 metre wingspan electric glider which excels at both thermal soaring and graceful aerobatics combined. We also test the add-on Thermic wing centre panel for the Aggressor, which helps maximise its performance in high lift conditions. Then, looking for a smooth ride, Frank Skilbeck takes to the air with a Jeti Rex10 Assist gyro stabilised receiver.
Our feature articles include a Model Magic walk around by Alex Whittaker of a fine looking 98"" span Fokker D.21 warbird owned by Mark Roberts and which was built by the elusive Spartacus. Alex then goes on to report from his first flying event of the 2021 season, the awesome Freestyle Masters, which attracts much of the UK's top model flying talent. To wrap things up Roy Thompson takes a look at another popular Bowmans of Ipswich kit from the 1980s, the diminutive Spatman, before being joined by other Spatman aficionados from around the UK.
