As I write, the UK is currently enjoying a burst of glorious sunshine and in true British style we’ve all been heading outdoors whenever possible to indulge in a spot of al fresco dining. So to make the most of the weather, this issue we’ve got a delicious selection of recipes that are perfect for picnics (p12), as well as recipes that can be prepared on a campfire (p48). The vegan team recently enjoyed a BBQ in the park to give us an excuse to try all of the new meat-alternatives that have been popping up in supermarkets recently. The experience was a little surreal as a passer-by would have been forgiven for thinking we were cooking up meat burgers and steaks thanks to their realistic appearances – but it was also incredibly exciting to be able to have such a wide choice of tasty vegan products readily available to suit any palette.
