You might not have heard of True Motion yet, but it’s a company that needs to be on your radar – because if you’re in the market for a new pair of running shoes, the theory behind their shoe designs is going to rock your world.
Founded in 2018 by Prof Dr Gert-Peter Brüggemann, Andre Kriwet and Christian Arens, the company combined experience at heavyweight shoe brands, such as Brooks and Asics, along with Prof Dr Gert-Peter’s role as director of the Institute of Biomechanics at the German Sports University, and launched its first shoe a year later in 2019.
What intrigued them was that, despite the ongoing innovations in the running shoe industry, running-related injuries have remained stable for decades. Alongside this, they were also armed with research conducted by Prof Dr Gert-Peter showing that stability running shoes didn’t prevent injuries.
