THE AEROFLOT Group, which includes Aeroflot, Pobeda and Rossiya Airlines, has reached a further settlement with a leasing company regarding outstanding claims over several aircraft in its fleet. According to the Russian flag carrier, the deal with the Irish subsidiary of Singapore-based BOC Aviation covers eight aircraft plus another under management. BOC Aviation launched legal action against the Moscowbased group in November 2022. On November 10, 2023, BOC stated that it had received “a cash payment of approximately $208m” to resolve the issue. The airframes, operated by low-cost subsidiary Pobeda, will now be handed over to the Russian state insurance company NSK.
Aeroflot said it will continue discussions with other leasing companies to settle the remaining claims over its foreign-built aircraft.
