Investigators in Pakistan have cited non-adherence to standard operating procedures, disregard of ATC instructions and a gear up landing resulting in the failure of both engines during the go-around as the primary causes of a fatal accident involving a Pakistan International Airlines Airbus A320.
The final report into the May 22, 2020, crash of Flight 8303 in Karachi details a litany of errors made by the crew, which resulted in the jet losing height and crashing in a populated area 1,300m short of runway 25L. Out of the 99 people onboard, only two survived, while one person was killed on the ground.
