Andrew Grima – the 1960s jeweller whose bold designs re-energised the British jewellery scene in post-war Britain – was commissioned by watchmaker Omega to create a collection of watches for its futuristic collection About Time.
The collection comprised nearly 60 designs, all with accompanying matching jewellery pieces. This c.1970 Omega 18ct gold ladies Teak wristwatch is decorated with a signature Grima bark textured finish and an original mesh-style bracelet. It is estimated at £4000-6000 in Richard Winterton’s Fine & Decorative sale on March 20-21 in Lichfield, Staffordshire.
