Drama festival
For each of the four nights of the 1998 drama festival last week, Lamlash Community Centre was just about full. Most of the people had a season ticket and they were there every night to enjoy a varied programme of four youth plays and seven adult plays.
The one-act drama festival is a regular feature on the Arran calendar and has been for many years, the first large public entertainment event of the year. For the second year running, best play was a comedy by Lamlash Drama Club and, also for the second year running, the award for the best actor/actress went to Julie Nelson of Whiting Bay Drama and Music.
