Concession holders have been hit by a 20p hike in the cost of a single ferry ticket.
The rise has been approved despite the fact that under RET general fares cannot go up until April 2018.
Strathclyde Part nership for Transport pushed through the rise which sees a single fare on the Brodick to Ardrossan route increased from £2.60 to £2.80 for island residents, but it failed to tell anyone. The first most older and disabled passengers knew about the rise was when they went to buy a ticket.
