After a short break, Taize Praise services are back for 2019. This Arran Churches Together venture is well established on the island but many people may be unaware of what it entails.
The Taize Community was founded in 1940 in Taize, France by Brother Roger as an ecumenical monastic fraternity dedicated to the service of young people and the promotion of ecumenism.
The Taize service lasts about an hour and includes several short musical chants interspersed with themed readings and prayers and short periods of silent meditation. The service is completely congregation led. After the service tea, coffee and fellowship are available for those who wish to stay.
