Arran’s elusive white deer has been spotted in Lamash.
Tony’s picture of the rare white deer in Lamlash.
The existence of the current deer is well-known on the island and as far back in 2011 it was photographed in the Banner. At that time it wasn’t known whether it was a stag or a hind. It is now clear from the current photograph that it was a male and it has now grown after another five years into a handsome stag. Unusually, the animal has a reddish rump instead of a light buff one.
