CARDIFF AAC leads British Athletics League Division 2 so far this season partly thanks to a 62-year-old hammer thrower on the comeback trail.
Nick Lia is a five-time Welsh champion with a best of 57.92m from 1977 but almost 40 years after throwing his PB he is back in competition and threw for his club at the first couple of British League fixtures this season.
Cardiff currently lead Swansea in the league with Kingston & Polytechnic third and Bristol & West fourth – and the next match is July 2.
