January – Carnation
Referred to as ‘flower of the gods’, the carnation’s meaning varies depending upon the colour. Pink represents affection and motherly love, dark red is deep love, light red is admiration, while white is for innocence, remembrance and purity. In general they’re symbolic of devotion, loyalty, passion and dependability.
February – Violet
With their gorgeous colour and heartshaped petals, violets have long been used in herbal remedies, love potions and to sweeten food. According to the Victorians, a gift of violets was a declaration to always be true. The flower is symbolic of humility, modesty, faithfulness, honesty and everlasting love.
