The concept of a Campbeltown book festival moved a step closer during a town hall meeting. Two authors, one of theology books, the other a thriller writer, were among 14 people at the recent discussion.
Explore Campbeltown, Explore Kintyre and Gigha, Campbeltown Town Hall and Campbeltown Library were represented and everyone present agreed to form an ad hoc committee. It was agreed to ask a delegation from Tarbert Book Festival to attend the next meeting. A possible month for holding MOK Bookfest 2019 was provisionally agreed as either September or October.
Crime fiction writer Campbeltown’s Denzil Meyrick was not present at the meeting but is keen to support the event.
