An overcast but bright Boxing Day proved ideal for the 47 athletes working off their Christmas excess on Westport beach.
Young South Kintyre Harriers Handicap Champion Niamh Quinn crossed the Slog in the Sand line first.
Niamh had competed in the 5km race while full distance runners battered 10km across the beach. In the men’s race Garry Muir, 37.05, returned to winning form having lost his crown in 2017 to Stuart McGeachy.
