On Tuesday November 6 Caledonian Marts sold 1,769 prime lambs, ewes and tups.
All classes of good quality lambs would be firmer on the week, with fatty types slightly easier on the week. Biggest rise were the 39-44kg lambs which averaged £73.28 or 170.4p (+£3.54 on the week).
Overall sale average for 1,293 sold was 163.17p (+2p on the week). SQQ lambs averaged 168.7p (+8p on the week). Top price of the day went to Doune Farms, West Lundie at £95 for an outstanding 60kg Beltex lamb.
