This year the Le Mans 24 Hours celebrates its 100th birthday (evenifitʼsonlythe 91st time it has actuallytaken place). Itʼs agoodexcuse to relivesome of the great stories from the worldʼs most famous motor race: the Bentley Boys, the five Jaguar victories in seven years, the Ford vs Ferrari battles, the 240mph Porsche 917s. In those hundred yearsthe cars, the circuit and the occasion itself have changed out of all recognition, and todayʼs rules would make no sense to André Lagache and René Léonard, who averaged 57.21mph intheir Chenard et Walcker towin the first event.
