Classic Plant & Machinery  |  V12:No.3 KENT’S RESERVOIR KINGS
Since I spoke to you last I have been touring around extensively on various jobs connected with future articles for the magazine and enjoying the excellent weather, although it looks like our ‘Indian summer’ is about to change. I have even been taken to the area where ‘Down in the Bushes’ was featured. Unfortunately I couldn’t talk with the people involved in the situation, but lots of items have been scrapped, or have disappeared from what I could see. However quite a few of the machines are still there, including the very interesting Caterpillar Traxcavator. When I can track things down further I will let you know what is happening and if all the spares been scrapped, I sincerely
hope not.
Getting out in the field is what I like best and talking to you and featuring your memories, machines and so on. A good number of you still operate older kit and that is nothing to be ashamed of. We are always pleased to hear from you if you run a modern fleet too, let’s hear how your machines are going and their problems.
I’m writing this just days before P&J Tours’ JCB Away Day when I will be taking 81 people, in two sessions, around the Rocester facility and to a local tractor collection.
