HP’s Envy 6530e is a compact all-in-one inkjet aimed at home users. It looks slightly different to most printers we’ve reviewed lately. There’s the typical A4-sized scanning unit on the top, but a protruding 100-sheet paper tray that pulls out at the front. That means it takes up a little more desk space than you might like, but it’s flatter overall than printers with sheet-feeders on their scanners.
A budget printer with most of the features you’ll need, but it’s costly to run
Above the paper tray there’s a lip where printed documents land, negating the need for a flimsy retractable paper catcher, and an upward-facing 2.4in colour touchscreen. It’s an interesting design but we’d still prefer the extra desk space.
