Why is Honor refusing discount sent after purchase?

Q In June I bought an Honor MagicPad 2 Android tablet, paying £399.99. After ordering online I noticed that Honor had sent me a code for a five-per-cent discount. I immediately sent two emails to Honor requesting they apply this discount to my order. I repeated the request the following day, and have sent six more emails, but Honor refuses to give me the discount. What should I do now?

A There’s not a lot Richard can do because Honor hasn’t acted illegally. It didn’t offer the discount before the purchase, so it doesn’t have to honour it. It can simply ignore any discounts applied after purchase. Indeed, it’s not uncommon for retailers to send a discount code shortly after a purchase to encourage the customer to buy something else.
